AC
Anyone know how easy/practical it is to fit an OE AC unit into a non AC 2012 2.2 Puma? Seen a cheeky DC that interests me, but has no AC. Must have AC in France, way too 'chaud' in sumer.

Thoughts messieurs.....? Bow down Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

I've seen a kit with all you need for about £1800. I think it's bearmarch. Don't know any more about it tho.

Breakers have been advertising it for about half that, but it doesn't come up that often as a whole kit.

There are some people on the forum that have done it and report it's not too bad a job, but not too bad a job for some people might be quite a difficult job for the likes of me Laughing

Did you find out any more about this?
I'm considering adding AC before the summer but I don't know how big of a job it is.
Any idea if the standard loom has all wiring required?
Is it just a plug and play job os is there more to it?

Got an answer just yesterday as it happens, from a specialist LR AC fitter in the SE. Very roughly £3000 incl VAT, parts and labour. Shocked Monsieur Le Grenadier

Ouch...

I was going to do the spannering myself using parts from a breakers. Would obviously leave the gassing to a specialist but...

My immediate reaction, but when you look at the 'labour' chunk of the price, it still means a new unit (and this was Land Rover OE) was a couple of grand. So, still way too much. I just need to keep looking for an AC variant. Most in France, Spain, Italy are, but about 50% of the UK DCs I am looking at aren't, hence wondering about a retro fit. Definitely off the agenda now, fitted or DIY... Monsieur Le Grenadier
