Anyone know how easy/practical it is to fit an OE AC unit into a non AC 2012 2.2 Puma? Seen a cheeky DC that interests me, but has no AC. Must have AC in France, way too 'chaud' in sumer.

I've seen a kit with all you need for about £1800. I think it's bearmarch. Don't know any more about it tho.

Breakers have been advertising it for about half that, but it doesn't come up that often as a whole kit.
There are some people on the forum that have done it and report it's not too bad a job, but not too bad a job for some people might be quite a difficult job for the likes of me ![]() |

Got an answer just yesterday as it happens, from a specialist LR AC fitter in the SE. Very roughly £3000 incl VAT, parts and labour.

Ouch...
I was going to do the spannering myself using parts from a breakers. Would obviously leave the gassing to a specialist but... |

My immediate reaction, but when you look at the 'labour' chunk of the price, it still means a new unit (and this was Land Rover OE) was a couple of grand. So, still way too much. I just need to keep looking for an AC variant. Most in France, Spain, Italy are, but about 50% of the UK DCs I am looking at aren't, hence wondering about a retro fit. Definitely off the agenda now, fitted or DIY... Monsieur Le Grenadier
