sooooooo.....CB's were mentioned.... channel? Or is this a secret squirrel moment?
Not saying I will know how to use the thing, its brand new and I ain't got a clue! ![]() I'm assuming no reception at the site, so I will just look for a white trailer with a landy attached....will drive around until I find it ![]() |

Cb comms I'll leave to you guys- I don't have one in my vehicle!
At the campsite I believe we are at the far end as there is a largeish area we can all be parked/camped together. Chris |

Jim,
I am going to meet my Bro at Perth (he's coming from Stirling) Times have still to be confirmed. Cb's: Having never really used mine before, I am assuming they are ideal for low distance communication, like 5 miles etc?? ![]() I am guessing I will Rock up with my brother hopefully before its dark at the campsite and just be looking for a gaggle of Defenders I suppose we will agree on a channel when we meet up? My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years. |

I suspect that Ian will be driving the lead vehicle, and me and Leanne will be in the final vehicle with coms to the lead- so long as everyone manages to stay in between I'm sure we will be fine

Just had a call from the campsite to say we are all booked on and ready for the end of the week.
They are condoning off a small area of the site for us, a mixture of hard standing and grass pitches, most of which have electric hook up if required. They have asked that nobody arrives on site before 07.30am and they also have asked that everyone tries to arrive before 21.30pm- although I mentioned that some folk are travelling a long distances after work so may end up being slightly later- they said that should not be a problem so long as folk arrive and set up quietly and are mindful that there are other users (kids) on site who may be asleep. Exciting stuff! @Merlin are you still planning on being on site Thursday? If so please could you try and give me a call at some point when you have arrived so I can update this thread with any further details necessary? Chris |

Awesome...do I still need to phone in advance or can I just settle up when I roll in? Arrived TBC but prob early evening Friday.
As for radios... I was more along the lines of those wee 2-way numbers - a kind of press and talk. Just handy when we are negotiating junctions or indeed when we hit tricky parts of terrain, and those who are in the know for best transmission settings can tell us all what is best. I'm definitely needing a refresher... although I have done the Land Rover course but given I am in my own tin now obviously extra keen to stay on the straight and narrow. |

Camping and balance to Ian just needs settling up when you are here- no problem on that front.
We are having week and a bit up in the area the trailer ended up slighty larger than originally intended....... but has actually worked out well as I can run the landrover 'light' and keep kayak, canyoning gear etc in the trailer for later in the week! |

I was just sorting out the money for the trip and I wonder if anyone knows the rate of exchange between the English pound and the Scottish one. I'm told the Scottish one goes further.
