The wire colours tell you what each cable does, rather than the connector colour.
The purple wire with the single connector is a permanent 12V supply. Commonly used for a 12V socket in the back. The orange and blue connectors look like mirrors of the ones which are connected on the other side - do the wire colours match? 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Thanks. I guessed the purple and will use this for a 12v socket in the rear which will be very useful. I'll check the wire colours. Will that mean I could have twin reverse and fogs on the back?! I've seen others do it. |

Why are there mirrored sockets. Assume perhaps for LHD and RHD vehicles?
