defender passed MOT with no issues, disco needs a bit of welding but have a mate who is very handy, and met a thoroughly nice chap who sold me some boosts and new tyres bad thing is it WILL change ... |

I don't come to this section of the forum for happiness. I want to read about some else's misery. I'm more grumpy now and I intend to wallow in it. One Life...Living it. www.rove-overland.com |

OK, perhaps not misery, but spare a thought for Mick Hucknall who provided me with LOL’s this morning as I was perusing the photos on the BBC news blog. What the has he done to his face? He looks like a bizarre cross between Mickey Rooney, that poor kid from that film with Cher about Lionitis or whatever it was, Deirdre Barlow, Chucky and a Cabbage Patch doll. Also I do not know if it is the photograph but he looks like he is about two foot tall and very much like one of those Irish Leprechauns Click image to enlarge For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

Halal slaughter. On a farming forum I follow a You Tube video has been put up showing the practices at a Norfolk slaughterhouse, many supermarkets are selling meat from Halal slaughterhouses and the only way you can tell is to Google the codes that by law have to be printedon the packaging, the Slaughterhouse and Processing Plant are supposed to be shown on the label along with the country of origin of the animal used.
Do not watch if you feel squeemish in any way, I have been around livestock most of my life and have been around the slaughtering process more than a few times and I can't watch more than a couple of minutes! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7wUY3jnSNM This post has been edited by the site administration team: embedded video changed to link Edit; I understand and I'm sorry if I have caused any offence, I hadn't taken into account that the link would come up with graphic images. I know this is a distressful subject but coming from a farming background I do feel that it should be made public, not glossed over as laws have been made over the years to protect the wellbeing and welfare of animals and livestock in the UK but there doesn't seem to be much action against this pratice. Just for information,Halal animals can be stunned before being killed, which is exactly the same method used in the uk for non Halal (stunned first, then killed). However, before an animal can be slaughtered for Halal it must be healthy,no obvious illness, lameness or broken bones, etc. Which are all to common in slaughter houses.I guess in all walks of life you will find animal abusers.
