Very nice. I do like the new side walls on the ko2. They give a more aggressive look to all terrains. Good choice

Is it just me then? I am not stuck on originality for originality's sake but the new wheels look too spindly and the lower profile tyre looks out of place. The silver 16" alloy with taller tyre looks much more robust and fit-for-purpose on a land rover and would be my choice every time..... (I also think the contrast of the silver wheel looks great on your car and that is coming from a died-in-the-wool hand painted black steel wheel person!)

I know that feeling well Jock... Had those fitted to my Keswick Special, but in Olde English White, and really love the look... Rog... The GREEN One... MY2016 Urban Truck Build Thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40548....al[/color] |

Well now you have raised the issue, I'd have to agree. Wouldn't look out of place in a Lowry painting.

Taken from a recent LRI thread about 18" wheels.
Now, each to their own of course. Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

I don't like 18's on a defender either, but each to their own. If we all liked the same it would be a boring world.

I don't mind 18" wheels on a Defender,...but not on their own.
I'd be looking at "on road", and if I did fit 'em, I'd also lower the vehicle by around 1 1/2", and fit a set of big (probably AP) brakes, because the standard calipers behind 18" wheels look puny...also the Bilstein suspension system!! Pickles. |
