How-To: Side locker Nakatanenga
Before I end up with a useless big square whole in the side of Olli, has anyone already installed a side locker from Nakatanenga?
Or similar?
Part from the door, locker and some small plates and rivets, nothing else came with it. 28/02 - Loss of a good friend...

I have not fitted a side locker so can not give direct advice.

Please drop an email to info@nakatanenga.de I am sure someone there can help out.

I've contacted Nakatanenga. Their answer:

This seems a pretty poor reply for a company selling to the public. How does the professional know to install their equipment safely without product information or instructions? 1995 Defender 110 CSW

To be honest: The job is pretty easy, but requires some skilful measurements. Depending on the MY and the built quality the measures are a bit different. So there is NO CHANCE for a template.

The instructions are as following:

measure the hole
cut the hole
rivet the thingy in
job done WANTED:

SII or SIII in max 1.5k

thx, but, By just rivetting the box to the side pannel, I'm not convinced that can hold the load?
And what are the small perforated plates for and the long small, thin bar with ovals in?

Hi Penguin,

From the picture on their website :

I would say that the lines of spot welds is your best reference.

But some pictures showing the underside / rearside after mounting would indeed be helpful.

Good luck on the install Thumbs Up Peter,

hard to tell Peter.
As you maybe saw, the door I have is different from the models posted on their site.
And the door drops open now.
So if the size is different... I'm .... Very Happy

It'll be indeed measure x8, measure again, cut and, as usual followed, by a lot of swearing in different languages Very Happy 28/02 - Loss of a good friend...

It will hold load up to 10kg, even under the harshest offroad conditions. Proofed.

The perforated plates can be used as additional support (over 10kg load)

What do you mean with: long small, thin bar with ovals in WANTED:

SII or SIII in max 1.5k
