It's a soon to be recognised condition - "Barbie Doll syndrome" that sees grown men dress up their Defenders because they weren't allowed to play with dolls as children

Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Mr. Green

I've ordered red and yellow bands from eBay. They are described as 'Vape Bands' - I'll see if they fit and report back Thumbs Up

Back in the old days, they denoted the gear and transfer sticks, red and yellow.

Were included in the run out models as a throw back.

They were actually the colour of the tops of the transfer box and 4wd selector, the gear stick just had a standard black top as usual. And as for 'old days', that just plain makes me feel ancient - it doesn't feel too long ago to me Big Cry

Yes, but in our day that Paddy Hopkirk chequer tape on the Mini/Anglia/Viva/Imp didn't just make it go faster, it often served some essential structural purpose! Whistle That's not a dent, it's a rivet. That's not a dent, it's a rivet. That's not ... oh! That is a dent!
