Travellers - West Lancashire
Oh joy, just noted a group of Travellers (about 8 caravans) descending on a public area less than 1/2 mile from our humble abode.

Local authority and police now informed, but I'm very uneasy.

I've got our local councillor on the case .......... Confused

I'm not wishing to appear disrespectful to Travellers but I do have to say that I won't be sleeping easy until they have moved on.

I apologise if I appear to be reacting in a rather melodramatic manner, but this is highly unusual where we live.

Anyone in Lancashire can PM me if they wish to know more detail.

Replied to PM. Thanks for your offer.

I think we have several visitors to the region!

I'm a little spooked to say the least.

All security layers activated but I'm still not going to sleep well.

Tempting, and probably more preferable, but to be honest I think they'd probably be as troublesome. That said, they'd probably be less interested in Defenders.

To be honest, it's actually more like 1/4 mile away so I'm very nervous. Shocked

I think you should save the being 'really worried' until they move on. Common sense suggests this is the time they will come and harvest all the goodies they have spied!

Happy to help Thumbs Up

Mmmmmmmm

Let's hope they move on sooner rather than later with insufficient time to spy my pride and joy Wink

Alas the reality is they'll simply move on and become the focus of some other, poor, unfortunate forum member.

All I can do is remain extra vigilant and ensure that security remains stringent in and around the house. Whistle

Not sure of your set up or needs, but can you not store the Landy ( or similar vehicles ) away at work or similar till it's passed ?

Yes Defender owners need not worry about ISIS, but Hilux owners should be VERY afraid if they move to the area Rolling with laughter

Your fuel and home heating oil and quad are more at risk but there are some good living travellers too. (Just not in UK)! 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

Quite right. From my experience insurgents and guerrilas prefer a Toyota pickup. Better to slap the .50cal on the back. Obviously they get a good price from their local dealer, judging by this photo. I don't think Land Rover Syria can offer quite the same deal, or offer air con and free servicing, even for their HCPUs. So unless you have a pickup, ISIS won't be of concern. Unless they ask for your house and daughter.... Whistle

It's no wonder the USA have been pressuring Toyota to stop. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..
