I have been shooting and preserving the local countryside for 45 years and i shoot everthing injurous to other creatures and forestry, i also shoot game and deer. I look after two large estates and 8 farms which at this time of year sees a lot of Defender miles. I rarely shoot clays because they taste terrible and do nothing to help a game shooter as clays travel in a known trajectory and slow down the instant they leave the trap unlike driven or flushed game.
I have a fair collection of rifles and shotguns each of which has a purpose and use but i do love nice handmade shotguns and would never own a machine made factory gun. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS.. |

Absolutely. As he says going through that kind of experience will inevitably have life changing consequences. Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

The camera never lies but in this case it certainly did.....
The pellets stopped all around the clay even the ones that missed. I have never seen white smoke come off any clay i have ever shot. The sound of the gun closing is actually the sound of a well used Browning and not a tight actioned new gun. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS.. |

I've been shooting 20 years roughly now,
I did have a break from it in my early 20's when life was about sex, drugs, rock & roll. I actually came 7th in the country in an under 16's clay shoot competion as part of the young farmers club (i was 15) I still have my trophy and certificate somewhere. I also still use the gun i used on that day to shoot. 12 Bore Miroku 6000. It's too small for me now but sentiment is strong and i still have it |

I've only been shooting for a few years but it goes well with labs and Defenders. My 90 pick up is perfect for the job and even with standard Latitude tyres it doesn't get stuck. I just want one of those fancy MSS drawers now.......always something!

Got into it very late, 43 years young and by accident really, got a working springer pup that my farmer friend said he was going to train and never got round to.
Took it of him at six months old, green as grass thought I'll train it myself, made just about every mistake in the book. Luckily found a gundog club that did training once a month with a trial champion Darren Skidmore, he did more in five minutes than I achieved in 5 months. Thanks to him I've got a great working dog that I shoot over on a rough shoot, great crack, break some clays when I get chance at Lupton near junction 36 m6 and at coniston hall hotel, can take your gun and dogs to stay over. Even sold my Range Rover sport for the defender, and bought a second hand beretta 12 bore 687 special edition. Click image to enlarge 5 months old |
