Must say, I do like the look of he side wheel carrier. Have been thinking about it as a mod on any future DC if I get a full external roll cage. Thoughts? Monsieur Le Grenadier

The Wolf side carrier is able to swap to either side depending on where you are, also the side with the wheel has an extended mirror arm. It does increase the blindspot and also when driving narrow roads you need to think of the overhang, living in Guernsey I take the spare off as the roads/lanes can be tight. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

Cheers Mash. Let's be honest though, we Defender drivers accept many difficulties, hurdles, faults, incoveniences etc, as long as we like the look!! Otherwise most of use would t buy a Defender in the first place!! Monsieur Le Grenadier

So what is the reason to the moving of the lights? Does the wheel carrier fowl them? 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

They were all repaired /overhauled before the REMUS fit, they all got a respray and full chassis protection. But despite the arguments us contractors put forward, coat had a profound over ruling. Many of the chassis work required was simply sprayed over. Very typical idle ABRO build quality. These motors were left sitting for almost 2 years before they all got collected(not sure what went wrong in the comma for that to happen) lots were returned for more works and refused receipting for shody tyres (a huge argument between an inspectors opinion and genuine MEI standards) we tried to put out good work honestly we really did, but we were swimming in some one elses pool |

It was due to the tail light being modified into a stop/tail, the other light became redundant We attempted to argue simply fitting extra lighting in the holes but got shot down |

If it was for this then the grommet would have gone into the now redundant brake lamp fitting - lower right. Instead, the fitting of the wheelcarrier necessitated the indicator light being moved to the outer position to ensure that hazard lamps would be visible from the rear with the swingaway carrier open. Basically to ensure compliance with UK law. |

cheers for the input, had wanted to mug off the lighting side of this mod if I ever got it for mine, now I know the reasons as long as I keep the door/swing away shut I can get away with it. Either that or a new rear panel will be sourced because those rubber bungs look 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

I haven't checked but is there a reason the brake light and the indicator could not have just been swapped with each other?
