That's how all the others that I have seen look, so what has prompted the fitting of the wheel to the rear? 80" 1948

Thanks for that.
About time, it was always a strange place to put it. Some of the less able troops had problems lifting the spare into position, that required a mod to make it easier to fit. Was difficult to check the tyre pressure when fitted, another mod. Why they did not just do what everyone else has been doing for years. But am glad I was not just imagining it. How long before the market for surplus swing away wheel carriers gets going? 80" 1948 Lightweight V8 Bowler Tomcat 130 Station wagon 90 300tdi (Santana PS10 pick up) Range Rover L322 (Ful fat) |

There is currently a ban on fitting these due to some people crashing with trailers. Not sure of manufacturer as I haven't seen any kits yet.
As for touch ups upon fitting a lot of the "tradesman/woman" have a very blinkered view in the sense "I have to fit this one item to the dash, but I can't notice the big crack in the windscreen" etc. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ |

I love my 200tdi.. ive turned every bolt and fully rebuilt the engine, i know that thing inside out.. the only major downside is using an LT77 behind it..
mine and a friends old comp 90 <Pictured right< was a 200 also, we put that well through its paces! it was a demon off road. Also had Wolf Axles (We picked them up from a guy in Bordon for £200 each.. Excellent deal since now you're looking at ~£1000 per axle... Maybe my next rebuild will be a 300.. need to convince the wife its a good investment first I'm picking up the Panoramic windows from Masia on the way home from work today (I know alot of people dont like them, but I do) So not much left to finish off the rebuild now.. My 1986 90 is currently on a full rebuild, with new chassis, Paint etc.. Eggsackly. I'd have a word with the MT CSgt if I were you. Unless you're junior to him, in which case I'd 'cancel my last'... Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |
