Phil, I canīt find one directly from behind, but this one shows the situation. Quite acceptable really . If looking directly from above, the tread is covered, but due to the 40/50mm raised suspension, the tyres are well...air cooled . I'm unclear what you mean by that? I didn't think Safari Equip sold or marketed the brand? There's a shared interest in the company ZU Rims Ltd but only in the same way the other major share in the company is ex-Scorpion Racing. |

SIGH What do I mean? Safari Equip or more precisely WVA Holdings limited trading as Safari Equip is located at Safari-Equip Unit 21 Fireclay Business Park Thornton Road Bradford West Yorkshire BD13 3NW Distance from our unit to their factory is about 4 miles, even closer from our home address. So they are 'close' to us in geographical terms only! WVA Holdings Ltd has registered address at Unit 21 Fireclay Business Park WVA I believe stands for Watson Vehicle Accessories. Zu Rims Ltd has registered office at Unit 21, Fireclay Business Park Current directors of WVA Holdings are Julian and Adrian Watson Current directors of Zu Rims Ltd are Adrian and Julian Watson Adrian and Julian own 100% of the share capital of WVA between them and 50% of the share capital of Zu Rims Neither Zu Rims Ltd or WVA Holdings/Safari Equip actually physically make the rims which are made by a third party company in the UK. So being pedantic Safari Equip or WVA Holdings Ltd do not actually sell Zu Rims. However they are despatched out of the same factory door as other WVA products and the same directors Adrian and Julian are SOLE directors of both Zu Rims Ltd and WVA Holdings Ltd. Now what any of this has anything to do with how good genuine Zu rims are I do not not understand. Maybe I should have said Zu Rims are made in the UK for Zu Rims Ltd located at Unit 21, Fireclay Business Park which is close to us. Zu Rims Ltd have directors are .............. company number.............. blah blah blah I wonder which company I am visiting this afternoon? Well I will park outside Unit 21 Fireclay Business Park. ALMOST losing the will to live! Brendan |

Nothing pedantic about getting the facts right, your previous statement was just factually incorrect and I wondered why you made it. It's just funny you don't acknowledge the business is half owned by person(s) involved with Scorpion Racing and the associated history attached to that business. You seem to enjoy turning a forensic eye over the products/websites/company setups of your competitors but then have a different standard for others.
I agree, which makes your original comment even more puzzling...
I do hope they are able to help you with your knowledge gaps and put you straight on vehicle lighting law in the UK. |

Yes I was factually incorrect when I stated Zu Rims are made in the UK for Safari Equip who are close to us. I should have stated that Zu Rims are made in the UK for ZU RIMS LTD who are close to us. One of the UK main distributors is Britpart, hence why you often see Zu Rims with a DA part number. I apologise to Defender 2 forum members for making such a gigantic mistake! My mistake was confusing Zu Rims Ltd with WVA Holdings Ltd trading as Safari Equip out of the same industrial unit, both companies run by the same hands on directors Now forgive me if I am wrong this thread was entitled 'How good are Zu Rims' So I am confused what the history of one of the shareholders in Zu Rims has anything to do with the quality and reputation of Zu rims? To be extremely open until extremely recently I had no idea who the share holders of Zu Rims Ltd as I had no interest in who the shareholders were. Which makes me wonder why someone has gone digging for that information which yes is in the public domain We have personally used these rims on our vehicles so yes I can recommend them from personal experience which I believe is what the OP was asking for. Yes I visited Unit 21 of Fireclay Business Park this afternoon which is the registered address of both Zu Rims and WVA Holdings Ltd and met one of the directors. Now if I want my product knowledge expanding I have a reasonable idea where I will source it from, which will be knowledgeable manufacturer/suppliers etc rather then someone on the internet who does not understand where UNECE is situated with regards to vehicle harmonisation and the UK market. It is good to know that I have got someone who will scrutinise my every post to make sure that everything I say is 100% factually correct. I suppose the next step of my personal follower correcting my factual errors is that he ensures my English grammar is also perfectly correct. PS I am a Sec Mod boy rather then a Grammar School boy Brendan |

That wasn't so hard was it! The only one making a gigantic deal with it seems to be you. Do I sense that you don't like anyone challenging "your" facts? Most of the rest of the of your posting seems to stray off topic - so picking upon your point about what has that got to do with...I'll ignore here; however I will answer this:
"Quality & reputation" - here's a thread from the day, am I right in thinking you know the OP?: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=4300 Anyone who had any dealings with Scorpion Racing in the past may like to know who the major shareholder in ZU Rims Ltd is and decide whether they want to line their pockets again. Sigh!
If I make a mistake I will do my best to correct it. However if the biggest mistake I have made in this thread is using the name Safari Equip which is a trading name of WVA Holdings Ltd which is a 'sister' company of Zu Rims Ltd I think most forum users will forgive me. It might surprise you that until yesterday I had no idea of the share structure or board of directors of Zu Rims Ltd. It does raise the question why someone would go looking at the share structure of the company. Yes a shareholder of Zu Rims Ltd has connections to a now dissolved UK 4x4 company. However a shareholder has nothing to do with the day to day running of a company which is the remit of the company directors and officers appointed by them This thread is about the quality and reputation of Zu rims. We have had Zu Rims fitted to 3 vehicles and are quite happy with them Now going back to the original post
So yes we have experience of them, yes we are happy with the quality. yes they were balanced out OK. Would we buy them again? YES. However on our new grey 90 we are not decided if to go for Zu rims or another rim as we have not finalised plans for it. Have we got a photo of Zu rims on an Epsom Green vehicle, no we have not.
