engine n transfer box mounts
Would someone be so kind as to explain how easy it is to replace them (or not as the case may be).

Thumbs Up

Not done any on a Tdci but generally you undo them, lift raise the engine/transmission (using a crane for the former or a jack for the latter), replace, lower and re-fix.

Sometimes it can be a bit of a faff as depending on what is connected to the engine (e.g. cooling hoses/fuel pipes etc.) there is only so far you can lift the block. Same goes for propshafts on the transfer box. If you come across problems then the solution is to remove the actual brackets from the block/box/chassis as appropriate which will allow you to swap the mount over outwith the vehicle and then refit.

Do NOT use aftermarket rubbish.

thank you Retroanaconda,

I was thinking the gbox looked easy enough (using a jack) but think it's best to get them all done by someone who knows what they're doing.

any thoughts on how may the gbox should move under normal condition (well road use Mr. Green ) the earth cable in the photo is normally a good 1cm away from the gbox mount heat shield but as you can see it's regularly rubbing on it?

just found this from sometime ago. hadn't noticed at the time but the mount appears to be well off centre - is it normal?

thanks.
