Rust on engine block
Hello guys! My first post here. Already learnt many things here so Thanks a lot to all! Thumbs Up

I am concerned about one issue with my Puma 110sw 2010my - rust on some parts of engine block Evil or Very Mad Can't post pics right now. Particularly around engine number and some other places. How did you solve that problem if you have one? Use Tectyl or other products? But there are many cable connections, hoses, etc, very inconvenient places to work with. Any suggestions? Puma 110

Mine got like that after about 6 weeks, especially on the fuel rail. Must admit it does look nasty, especially if the rest of the engine bay is clean.

don't worry LR do not charge extra for it and the dealers help it along for free as well.

I'd like to know what dealers in UK do to get rid of rust? Because my dealer said "it's ok" - I'm in Russia Puma 110

I am in New Zealand near the sea and have a little rust on the engine block, I just sprayed a product called
Corrision x all over it and on nuts and bolts etc, my friend is a helicopter engineer and they use this stuff on airframes out in Malaysia all the time especially between aluminum and steel etc in the humid climates

Not sure if its available in your neck of the woods!!! I visit most years to a place not so far from you

Thanks dgardel! Thumbs Up
I saw Def 2006MY with unreadable engine number due to that cover on the lower part of engine. Upper part of engine was clear. So I worried about that issue.

So there is nothing to worry about? Puma 110

Absolute do not worry!!!

all new engine (Range and Discovery too and not only Land rover) have no paint on the block.

In the pas the block was colored in black or orange or .....

Now no paint => cost reduction!!!! Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition
