Mine got like that after about 6 weeks, especially on the fuel rail. Must admit it does look nasty, especially if the rest of the engine bay is clean.

don't worry LR do not charge extra for it and the dealers help it along for free as well.

I am in New Zealand near the sea and have a little rust on the engine block, I just sprayed a product called Corrision x all over it and on nuts and bolts etc, my friend is a helicopter engineer and they use this stuff on airframes out in Malaysia all the time especially between aluminum and steel etc in the humid climates http://www.corrosionx.com/hd.html Not sure if its available in your neck of the woods!!! I visit most years to a place not so far from you Рязань where my wife's family lives. |

Thanks dgardel! ![]() I saw Def 2006MY with unreadable engine number due to that cover on the lower part of engine. Upper part of engine was clear. So I worried about that issue. So there is nothing to worry about? Puma 110 |

Absolute do not worry!!!
all new engine (Range and Discovery too and not only Land rover) have no paint on the block. In the pas the block was colored in black or orange or ..... Now no paint => cost reduction!!!! Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition ![]() IID Pro MV License |
