The seat base and back are wired in series - so, it sounds as though your driver's seat back has failed open-circuit.

Oh great! Thanks for that I really appreciate it, is it possible to take the back cover off to take a look or will it be a tiny wire linking element together?

Oh nice one I might get wiring checked Monday, if not can I fit that easily or is the cover a real pain to get of and refit correctly? |

Trim is a doddle - I use small zip ties to refit - I think there's a video on Exmoor trim / Youtube

Click image to enlarge Well found a yellow wire loose on the back heated pad, tried to solder back onto what looks like a small magnet with two terminals but don't know if this is correct, unfortunately it has not worked unless I have not soldered it correctly |

That's the failure I had on one of the seats I put in my soft top, soldering a small extension wire to the thermal switch (silver circle thing) and to the broken yellow wire completed the circuit again. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Got a close up of your current wiring/soldering?
Have to say even a cheap £5 meter is absolutely invaluable when doing electrical work. Should be in every tool box IMO 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Well I double checked my soldering and still attached but I took it back off and connected a spade connector instead, still no joy though unfortunately so luckily found a new genuine rear heat pad on fleabay for £28 posted so I'll take a punt on that and see how I get on, only thing is its minus the connector but I can just use the one off of the broken one, so hopefully it will be sorted and warmer!.
I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the advice too |
