Couldn't say for definite with that much loss, but mine and a relative's both used to drop a couple of inches over a few weeks ... New caps on both solved the problem
For a sake of a few quid it's worth a try. Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |

Mine was also losing coolant until I replaced the cap.
I now replace it every year, it's cheap -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Excellent guys, will try a new cap and got some new coolant on the way.
If it doesn't work, well, it was worth a go but it's possible. It's the same cap that I've had since I've had it in 2010 so possibly from new. Will see how it goes. Thank-you. |

My 2.2 110 is doing the same thing.
Does anyone happen to know the part number for the cap? |

Mine did the same so I replaced the cap twice.... in the end I had to change the expansion tank and now a year later not had a repeat of the problem and all is OK. Cheers Don. |

Well, small update.
Changed the cap, still the level of fluid is dropping so further investigation is required today. |

I don't like over tightening things but from what I've seen this cap does need to be pretty tight.
hope you find the cause and it ain't too expensive / difficult to resolve. |

Mash - Thank-you for the kind offer but I am a long way away sadly.
I'm going to have a proper poke around today as I've got a day off anyway do I'll see what I can find. Being orange OAT coolant it shouldn't be difficult to locate but I think it's out of sight hidden. Doesn't help having orangey driveway grit either. |
