Hannibal tent roof mounting - 2 or 3 bars?
Afternoon all,

Do we have anyone who has roof mounted a hannibal tent on bars (not a rack)? Been having a good chat on the subject with Leeds however by his own admission he is not the expert when it comes to Hannibal Tents.

3 bars seems prudent however there are only two prefabricated mounts toward the edges of the tent. Have people placed a third bar in the middle as an additional (not mechanically connected) third support?

Edit - also interested in peoples views if you have roof mounted anything at all.

Cheers

TC

definitely 3. it's not just the weight of you when youre in it, but its also the stick the roof gets when youre offroad, especially corrugation. your middle bar doesnt need to attached to the tent but it helps the vehcile and the tent if its in there.

The advice for my roof tent was ok with 2 bars for most things including moderate greenlaning anything more strenuous, 3 bars are required.

we ran 2 for a while. Mike

Cheers Alex. Tent is spot on. Am now in a quandary as to the best mounting solution. Hope the hunt for that Camper goes to plan.
