Just up at Mam Tor in the Peak district last Saturday, I think the snow was a bit better the day after

Went to see my 110 as its in for surgery on its rear end
Rear x-member and chassis more rusted than I originally thought. Anti-Roll bar, fuel tank, towbar, spare wheel all off. New x-member on, chassis plates added and welded in. Wiring loom where it comes out the rear chassis has been moved further back to save having to undo the loom. Going to get a hole drilled in the chassis where it dips down before going onto the x-member and have a nut welded on to the chassis rail and then a bolt put in so if need be I can drain any water out and also get Dinitrol in as well. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Not today but at the weekend I took the V8 (&the dog) out for a blast round the EVO triangle, plenty of snow up on the Denbigh moors!

Picked up the 110 after having a new x-member. No pics of the new one as its dark, but I have pics of the old x-member
Top of the x-member that is under the body - note the lack of metal Click image to enlarge Between the fuel tank and back of the x-member Click image to enlarge Looking into the top of the chassis rail Click image to enlarge There was also rust along the side of the chassis rail and around the rear ARB mounts 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
