Newfoundlands and Bernese are absolutely 'de rigueur' here in the Alps. They are everywhere. I saw one woman with four and she was being dragged along the high street like Boudica on her chariot. I'm going to a house warming tonight and there will be at least six, each episode averaging almost 10st. Small kids beware. And you're absolutely right about the slobber. But amongst the most gentle, loving temperaments of any dog you'll find. One couple have a 18mth daughter and she rules the Bernese, who standing on all fours is a good foot taller than her. But our Alfie (tabby cat) isn't so enamoured when any one (let alone all six) visit us!! Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Our Briard "Scruffy" in the back of the 110 during the journey to the Alps.
She's getting on a bit now and I have just invested in a ramp for her to use to get in and out. Click image to enlarge --------------------------------------------------------------- |
