Thanks Alex,

In relation to my original question, which makes the most significant difference to the ride quality of the Defender from standard springs and shocks?

Its the jarring and crashing off every tiny bump in the road I want to soften out. 2016 D4 HSE

Hi All

The springs make the biggest difference for sure but when coupled with B6 Dampers and Uprated rear anti roll bar the difference is mind blowing! we have a vehicle in south croydon that has our suspension package on it and is available for test driving if that is of any use to you. Check out our comfort springs with the below link.

Someone further up this thread mentioned spring isolators. I vaguely recall Discoverys used to have these (urethane jobbies in the spring seats) that were suitable for Defenders (albeit with a half inch or so of further lift) though I've never tried them. Also, on the Land Rover Experience our instructor had us going faster down a rutted track to demonstrate that the suspension starts working and smoothes out over 35mph, or so. Cheers, Guy.

But those also lower

and thats a bad thing?

im lowered with 285/65r18 tires and have no issues at all. plenty of articulation.

I guess not, but RRUK did say he was happy with the ride height and assumed maybe he felt the clearance was useful at shoots, but what do I know Confused

Alex...looking at your webpage for the shocks, do they come with all new bushings etc? Or do you have to buy them?

Would the bilsteins make any difference to a 110 USW compared to the standard LR fitted one's.? Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

I fitted my Alive comfort springs to my 90 yesterday and the difference in ride was quite startling, no more crashing about over pot holes, actually it was a really nice ride, noticably softer in the rear end (ooh err!!) which is why they probably work best with an uprated ARB and i love the slightly lowered look

I'm glad about that as i have just ordered these from you as well and was wondering if i had to buy them seperately, just saving for the uprated anti roll bars now Laughing
