Im going to go for a bilstien B6 damper kit and rear anti roll bar for my double cab, with it primarily being used on the road carting my dogs around better road comfort is desirable, also the bilstien b6 kit doesnt hinder the off road ability.
Many suppliers of kits around, ill more than likely be using Alive as they supply the rear anti roll bar too... |

I'm sure I read somewhere of a chap who had some extreme 4x4 progressive springs coupled with Bilstiens.
From memory a standard 90 has 175lb/in front and 225lb/in rears He had standard fronts(175lb/in) and 175/225lb progressives in the rear. I did this, Bilstien B6 damper kit, front and rear anti roll bar, made a huge difference that was immediately noticeable; I can thoroughly recommend doing this mod. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I must agree with LOMG. Most of us pop massive wheel/tyre combos on our Defenders and I think part of the reason we like it is that the proportions look better. Further, the reduced gap between tyre and wheel arch looks 'right'. When you also consider most people wouldn't be able to spot a 1" drop in height against the original 80" height, which would take a keen eye, it's a tiny mod. So for better handling and greater comfort, why not? Additionally, how many Defender drivers really, really use the full articulation off road and would miss that extra 1" clearance? I'll be doing it when I have the chance... Monsieur Le Grenadier

Our 90 came with ARBs standard,.... did yours?, & if so, did you replace both, & did you use the standard mounts & bushes? Regards, Pickles. |
