Fitted this:
Click image to enlarge Panel and power/USB ports from Mudstuff, Switches from Mobilecenter ( as they are switched the right way for my ocd) Think I'll run in a better power and earth tho as I used the one off the old ciggy lighter for both. Only one issue really and that's that the RWW amber bar lights as soon as i turn the ignition on, the wiper doesn't move unless I switch the switch to ON as expected, that said the 'park' feature has never worked, hmm Gary 3 Landrovers |

Went for a run up the A5 through Betws-y-Coed, and across to Anglesey to Red Wharf Bay to visit the birth place of the Land Rover... Something I wanted to get done this year.

Stopped at the roundabout on way home from work and bump! some hit me from behind. A lad in a VW Golf.
Damage report LR 0 - Golf 2 (Dent on the bumper and a bit of trim that almost fell off) Didn't bother swapping details but I do have his number plate. No damage to mine as he hit the tow bar. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Whoopsies, sorry to hear that John, hope there are no repercussions though...
Actually got to drive the Special to Cambridge today, at least to the Park & Ride to take the bus direct to Addenbrookes for the best part of the day... Left me radioactive for the day though... I don't think there will be, the driver offered (and backs up what I spotted as well) information that would drop himself in some trouble.
I am happy the car is OK. Certainly no damage done - other than a scuffed tow ball cap. Maybe he will be more careful next time. Told him to be more careful as well. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Got another 12 months MoT on mine this morning, allways a relief even when you know it should go through with no hassle. Spotted another members 110 from on here waiting outside for a couple of little jobs

Tested in the dark the light production of my re-installed original SVX Wipac Cristal halogens with the VPLDV0061 H4 bulbs and the Landreiziger loom which directs the full 13.7/14.00V alternator power to the lights without any losses. Happy I took the EVOs back off (even if they were excellent) after running them for several years, the halogens as installed on mine are more than good enough. And, I do like the more classic looks of them more than the high tech looks of the Speakers. Happy that against the tide I went back to the future. Will not easily revert back to LEDs I think

Eric, having recently fitted Evo IIīs replacing Wipac Crystals and Nightbreaker H4īs, I can fully understand your decision. The LEDīs are good, and modern looking, but the classic look of the clear lenses does suit the Defender so well. Iīm keeping my Crystals boxed for a future date. The Halogens do offer a smoother cast of light, if not as intense as the LEDīs. 1998 Tdi 90 SW, 2008 Td4 90 SW, 2012 2.2 90 SW, 2" raised Trailmaster/Terrafirma Heavy Track Raids, 255 MTīs, Recaro CSīs, anorak, wellingtons |

Wild Card, what I like additionally is that the SVX front lights set up includes the 90mm halogen additional high beam driving lights. And in spite of multiple requests several years ago by me and other members here for one or more LED manufacturers (Speaker, Nolden) to produce a plug and play LED alternative for these 90mm lamps, nothing ever happened. I never liked having the main lamps as LED plus the aux high beam driving lamps as halogen. So now my front is fully halogen again, including the fogs. And frankly, the SVX double driving high beam lamps is giving me more than light enough for night driving.
