Do what I did, open it up and take out the honeycomb and weld it back up. It can't look anymore genuine than that

Remove it, smash the honeycomb inside with a pry bar and it's done, don't need to cut it open.
Well unless you intend to get some money from selling the cat innards (which is quite valuable) then cut it open and remove it and patch it back. From the land of the most expensive land rover defenders on planet earth. At �125k for a XS 110 csw and you get to own it only for 10yrs! Please find me a good reason to stay on this island. |

You have to cut the Td5 one open as there's no way you'll get a bar of any sort down the pipe, it's too far away from the ends.

I managed to get most of the innards out of mine (Td5) with a drain rod and one of the "cork screw" type ends on it, just flexible enough to get through the bends from the centre box end, couldn't get it all out but enough to make a difference.

i removed the entire down pipe and chassis cross member for the gear box to come down, so it was one of those, well, since it's accessible, lets take it out and smash the stuck animal inside it.
