Absolutely, glad they just got on with it and admitted there being a fault and it was to be repaired under warranty rather than trying to wriggle out of it in anyway.

Fair play , mine had rattled from day one of my ownership too , I just assumed it was a " defender thing "
Having read into on this fine forum I decided to have it addressed for peace of mind. JAS who did it , had done another prior to mine which was newer but higher mileage, one of the springs had cone adrift and gone into the pressure plate. "Procrastination is the thief of time" |

They even sent me a video by email of my Vehicle Health Check - as there was nothing to report he went round showing the tyre depths, I could see it has been jet washed but not as thoroughly as I do it after each shoot, probably just enough not to trash their workshop! 2016 D4 HSE

I am going for low base.
Not sure if I have understood what you are saying - but the high and low base variants talk to the seat base sides, not the height of the actual seat. I'm going for the low sided base because even I tend to slide out of the car, rather than lift a leg out and climb out. In time, the high sided base would either become a PITA or get squashed and ruined. If you look at the LRI site you can see the difference between the two. Ah ok it makes sense now it's the height of the wings on the side of the seat base not the height of the actual seat base! My excuse is being a youngster I'm still learning

Yes, neat looking seats!
![]() However, I am not going to lie as well... the significant side bolsters are designed for lateral support... e.g.: sports cars capable of 1g + cornering etc. I just don't see the need or application for this in a Defender... cornering g forces minimal and rough road lateral support being quite adequate with the OEM seats! It's therefore all about the looks... and they do indeed look cool ![]() |

YOLO,
I get that, but most LR seats just sit ontop of, they don't hold you in at all, and the Defender bounces around a lot! Some side support can make a big difference. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |
