Code reader suddenly can't read codes
My code reader suddenly tells me that the ECU's are not communicating with it. I had the ABS and TC light up this afternoon and went to read it almost right after it happened. My reader cannot get anything from the engine ECU or the ABS ECU. Shut off the engine removed key locked it up and did it all over again, still won't read. It has worked flawlessly prior to this reading live data and misc codes etc. I checked the reader with my Range Rover and it works fine.

Any ideas? Thanks 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

What reader is it? Does the reader power up when it's connected to the Defender? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Yes it powers up and goes through its diagnostic. I can run it through autoscan and manual scan but both end up with the message of no connection. As I said it worked on the Defender just days ago... Both manula diagnostic and OBDII work on my Rangie. Its an iCarsoft 930 from Terrafrima. 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

Td5 is not odb11 compliant as it uses a different (lower) baud rate, there are a few threads about your scanner not working with it and people returning them.

It will talk to the ABS ecu and will have read functions on the serial number but beyond that not much good.

Thanks, it was working! It seems to have the ability to read both but right now it is not reading? 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

Well went out this morning plugged it in and bam! No issues... Guess my ECUs just wanted a break from speaking. Smile. Thanks everyone. 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)
