Wiper non stop intermitnet
Hi,

Looked for some answers and couldn't find anything specific for my problem.

The truck has developed a non parking flat out wiper option for all of the settings. Is this likely a relay or a park sensor? I would have thought the relay would stop it completely from moving if faulty and park sensor would still allow the wipers to operate in different speeds just stopping in random locations. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

ISTR that the park switch uses the 'fast wipe' brush on the motor for parking, irrespective of wipe speed. My suspicion therefore is that the park switch has failed short circuit across the park terminals.

My only wonder is that you can stop the wipers at all.

ISTR = I seem to remember.

It's not clear what the fault is, is it working but only on FAST in all modes, and not parking at all even when switched back off?

How are you stopping them if that is the case?

Does it run non-stop in intermittent mode (stalk down)?  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Wipers stop in off position, but Not in the park position. On intimitnet, slow and fast wipe positions on the stalk (connected to the steering column) the wipers operate at the fast speed usually found at the top position of the stalk.

Thinking now it maybe a combination of things all going wrong at the same time. The stalk maybe causing the wiper speed limitations (shorting out or something?) and the park sensor is causing the random stopping positions?

Change the park switch first, you may be pleasantly surprised.
