SSE went over to electric winches now, not PTO driven, even the last TD5s they had had leccy winches. I have never seen a puma with a PTO winch. ![]() 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |

Won't fit until you replace the x-member. The LT230 box moved 70mm backwards with the Tdci. So the PTO interfers with the x-member.
AFAIK no fit and forget PTO available for Tdcis Peter WANTED: SII or SIII in max 1.5k |

once I get the dimensions for the pump I will go underneath and measure it up, The propshaft is my main concern so maybe a lift? Or one of X eng propshafts. The other idea was to cut out a section of x member and reinforce with a plate on the opposite side.

I'll pop over later and ask him if i can take some piccies of it. to be honest i've never looked closely to see if it's hydraulic or electric or mechanical. it looks like a big mechanical husky, but i could be wrong. |

There are two take off points for pto on a LT230 transfer box, in the back and underneath , you can then either fit a prop type mech takeoff or a hyd pump . the undernaeth option is a lot more expensive than the rear , due extra castings etc,

Has anything become available for a hydraulic pump on the 2.2 in the 10 years this thread has been dormant?

2.2, 2.4, TD5... Makes no difference. All Defenders use the LT230 Transfer box which is where the PTO hydraulic pump fits, just run and mount the hoses where you wish.
Quite a few options available from a quick google search. For example http://www.lr-winches.com/Parts/Power_Take...ender_PTO/ > 110 XS Double Cab |

I believe from reading previous posts it’s not so simple on the 2.2/2.4. The transfer box moved back and now the Rear Cross member gets in the way of mounting anything.

From what I understand the rear crossmember doesn't have the PTO drive hole, but if you just want a hydraulic pump and not a shaft to drive a PTO at the rear then it's relatively straightforward
