Surely cheaper to have it anodised or powder coated ?

Would be cheaper to send to outer Mongolia vie donkey ridden by a prince to be remanufactured, anodised and refitted using gold rivets, then returned on the back of dragon.

Urban truck dont do anything themselves, that means you can buy it elsewhere cheaper, have a look on ebay and you'll find some. Thumbs Up

No luck on ebay Sad

And a 200+ mile round trip to Urban Truck and £240 for 2 small bits of black chequerplate metal is not very appealing.

Any views/ideas on spraying in situ, ie etching primer and a few coats of black paint ?

Be cheaper to take existing ones off and take to your local GOOD powder coaters!

Personally I am not a big fan of chequer plate. When wet, especially on an angle it can be slippery as ice!

No thats just a rip off! Do like Brendan said and take them to a local paint shop, or look at anodising companies £50 tops i'd say from experience.
