Thank you for making the point I was hoping someone would make.

Very welcome, the point has been made before. Bow down Thumbs Up

I (as I suspect many others) didn't buy a Defender because I needed one. I don't shoot, farm, I am not a range warden or work for the Forestry Commission, I suffer from mild OCD and even as a Marine Electrical Engineer I don't do dirt very well! In comparison to many others I probably do pamper it. It is clean and looks very good for a vehicle that is nearly 8 years old. I have always looked after my possessions and even my work tools get a weekly spraying and wipe down. 'Look after them and they will always look after you' is what I was taught.
Alternatively if I needed to 'fit in' I could possibly buy a chequered shirt, flat cap, Barbour Jacket and perhaps a pair of Le Chameau leather lined wellies (like the pair you were selling RD) at £300 a pair, smear myself and my Land Rover in the excrement of some farm animal and start sucking on a wheatsheaf and speaking like a Wurzel, but I don't feel the need or desire.

Thumbs Up Laughing

Mud tyres look cool! My Coopers however were a bit too noisy on the road. KM2s are a damn sight better. Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

So here's a question. I can get km2's for £130 a corner or cooper stt for £105 (both 265/75/16) and that's fitted. But are the bfg'd really £25 better? I'll be getting 5 so that's a a tyres difference over the cooper. Now I'm not a tight arse but £125 is a good chunk of pennies!

For a rugged look, go for the Coopers.
If you want off road performance, I'd go for the Coopers.
For lower road noise, the general consensus is to go for the BFGs.

So based on what you've said so far, probably the Coopers.

BFGs and Coopers. This is a company I have used recently and would use again! Price obviously does not include fitting but in my opinion the BFG KM2s are quieter than the Coopers by a long shot having swapped from one to the other recently.

From September.... Thumbs Up

I had Cooper STTs and swapped to BFG KMs. The Coopers are horrendously noisy in comparison.

Well again thanks all for your input Thumbs Up Think I'll go for the bfg's. Since it's going to be mainly road use I can only imagine the extra noise annoying me! However..turns out there's a few green lanes locally so I'm defiantly going to have to get involved!!

You will like them, they are popular for a reason!
That's why when I was deciding I went with the flow on popularity.
