I used to have a big proper Italian coffee machine made by Nuova Simmonelli. It was great but loads of hassle.
I sold it and bought the most basic Krups Nespresso a few years back and have never looked back. Perfect espresso every time. Use a milk frother machine to make great capuccino or lates. I'd advocate a Delonghi bean to cup machine. A bit bigger than a nespresso but far better value per cup - the pods are at least 20p per cup, whereas coffee beans cost under 5p. I bought my machine from eBay... My blog - www.anacreinhampshire.blogspot.co.uk

Currently have a Jura Z9 bean to cup machine in the kitchen, brilliant machine, has a vast selection of drinks which can all be fine tuned to your tastes

More than your budget but did get mine for just over £300 on an Amazon deal http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0058U1...ge_o05_s00 this machine is amazing. Self cleaning, one button espresso or double espresso, dual bean container etc etc etc.
I like my espresso before I go out the door in the morning and it is simple, press the on button and come back a few min later and press the button and BOOMI have my fix |

For three hundred quid, De Longhi Bean to Cup is the way to go (we've a Magnifica, best cappuccinos I've ever had). But fickle, lots of descaling - especially if you live in a hard water area like Norfolk, we've started using bottled water - when it gives up the ghost a cheap'n'cheeful (but VERY good coffee) Philips Senseo is gonna be our next one.
And, of course, the cheapest place in Europe to buy coffee is Luxembourg. Peter |

Also over you budget, I have a built in Neff Coffeemachine.
Hasslefree now for over 8 years. Using good quality coffee beans (I like Lavazza Gold) it makes delicious coffee, every cup fresly milled and brewed.  Cheers, Vincent

If you simply want Espresso afore you go for a decent start to the day, you really cannot beat the Nespresso system...
The machines produce consistently great coffee, from a range of different beans and pods (do NOT try other inferior pods, they just don't cut it!) and require little else than the occasional descale...

Yeah,
Looks like Nespresso is going to do the job for me I wasn't aware that other companies made suitable pods for the system. Fortunately, I live in a soft water area ( I think most of God's country, Scotland is ) so won't have the hassle of descaling ever.
Low maintenance is a must, as I'm a lazy git!  My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years. |

If you get a Nespresso NEVER buy the other makes of pods, they're nowhere near the same quality. I've tried loads and binned them. You save about 5p per capsule so it's not worth it. 2016 D4 HSE
