Do you also change the flywheel bolts?
Think they should be about 40Nm + 90 degrees. Hard to pull the last 90 ...

My clutch has started slipping at 75k miles, the spiggot bush is squealing in reverse, and there is a rattly sound when idling, perhaps this is what is known at chattering?

Anyway, I need it replaced ASAP as I'm off on holiday in it in a months time.

The local independent has quoted me around £1300 to do the job, including the DMF (oem kit), I just wanted to know if this sounds about the going rate? I'm happy to pay it as I don't have the time to do it myself at the moment, but I was a bit surprised it was this much given the price of the parts. It only took a few hours to it on my old lightweight!

Thanks Alex. Since booking it in, the car has decided to stop slipping its clutch now - no matter how hard I tried at the weekend. I'm now wondering if oil leaked onto the clutch plate from the crankshaft seal?

I've emailed the garage anyway and they'll take a look when they do the DMF. It will be worth it just for the piece of mind - I don't want it failing on me when expeditioning next month! (even if its only in the dizzy heights of the Welsh mountains Embarassed )
