I like the first solution in the below thread. Good reminder to ask about it, high time I finally get this done.

Now that I'm reminded of this, just ordered 2 sets of these Quick Fist rubber tie down belts from amazon.com in USA. Total price including shipping remains well below the Swiss threshold for import VAT, so no other charges here. Even cheaper than if I would have ordered them on amazon.uk or amazon.de.
Just in case of any interest, here is the link to the correct item: http://www.amazon.com/Quick-Rubber-mountin...belt+38%22 When I will install it for the Ard'case, will see if I only need to use one set (from charliefox post seems the case), or both sets. If only one, I may offer the second one up here. Eric You never actually own a Defender. Yep, I've used the quick fists on the roof rack, with a home made bracket, for two years now. They hold my shovel and axe, when we go away.
I can't fault them at all, they are exposed to all the elements and still look as good as new. Initially I was told that they may degenerate when exposed to excessive UV. Though on the packaging it states that they are UV treated. I guess that won't be a problem for you anyhow. Very easy to operate, and a big from me. |

Ardcase can be secured just with a ring/lynch pin on the side of the seat box using the clip for the lid.
It doesn't get in the way unless you have large feet! Picture in my gallery: |

scotm, not sure I understand exactly how you fix it there. Any more detail?
Hufflepuf, here is my solution for those enormous keys... Not sure it really is what you are after though. Click image to enlarge You never actually own a Defender.
