Would anyone happen to have one of these kits http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-DEFEN...567008d909 not installed yet who could kindly measure the cir-clip please?

Mine have got lost. I have tried measuring the groove with the callipers but they don't fit Sad 1999 Defender TD5 110

Sorry, I cant help with your question, but maybe you can answer mine Thumbs Up

How do you fix these to the vehicle? Do you weld them on or do they bolt on?

Cheers & apologies again.

Drill correct size hole then pass through the hole and the circlip retains at the front of the swivel simple as that

On the front on the winch bumper there are two 36mm holes - one either side. Pass the swivel through from the back, and pop the circlip into the groove. This stops the eye going backwards out the bumper. 1999 Defender TD5 110

I have the same question,..how do they attach to the front of a standard Defender.
I did see some others that bolted to the top of the standard Defender bumper mounting points with the addition of another two bolts through the bumper, made by a German company GMB or GMP?

You can't use them with an OE bumper.
You need a FF or D44 HD or similar option.

I have a pair on my FF tubular..

First Four sell the circlips off the shelf after I enquired and asked last year. Wink

Just checked.
Mudstuff stock the front recovery eyes I was talking about,.....they mount onto the top of the bumper using the two original plus another two mounting bolts,..made by GMB,.....look like a quality product to me.

Got the new circlips today but I think the news ones are a bit small compared to the remaining part of the original one.

They get stretched out quite a bit once fitted, you've got the fun bit yet and that's getting them on!

Been there done that and not keen to do it again. Laughing

I found all my Circlip pliers weren't big enough to open it far enough.

They do need to be tight thoough after all.

You don't want a big chunk of metal or a shackle falling off, highly unlikely but if no shackle was on it'd be easily possible.
Oh bad stealable. Rolling Eyes

I hadn't thought of the clip being stretched, but comparing old and new there is quite a stretch! They are fun to get on!! 1999 Defender TD5 110

I found once you started them you can slip them back and in the groove not too bad. It's just getting them on first.
