Curious problem. Generally wipers stopping like that it down to worn wheelboxes and/or drive rack, but you say that you have replaced them already. When they are worn, the rack can partially unmesh from the drive gear and lock up.
Did you use good quality replacement parts (if it was Britpart I would still suspect that this may be the issue)? If you know that the drive rack and boxes are good, it does tend to suggest that it may be the motor itself. |

I replaced them with Gen LR ones maybe 2014/2013. So I hope its not them.
Is the motor servicable? i.e new brushes etc? The wipers are fine when the glass is wet. Sometimes the washers don't always work on the first press/no noise/water so makes me wonder if also I have an issue with the stalk or washer motor is playing up 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

The motor is serviceable, but be wary of cheap components...
Much easier, and less hassle to fit a new complete genuine/OEM motor... |

Intersteting, I have a similar issue, except, my wipers work fine on intermittent wipe, or slow wipe. But if I put them to fast wipe the motor slows down and feels like something is binding! I too had recently changed the wheel boxes, admittedly I did not change the cable. I have not resolved this yet, but I think the wire drive and the carriers pipes need to re-aligned, I can't help but feel that the issue is there somehow!! Cheers Andy |

I think its the park switch. When on intermittent the wiper work fine. If I put them onto the slow setting and turn them off mid sweep they get stop!
So new park switch ordered. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

I'd say 99% certain its the park switch, had a very similar problem on mine. Easy to replace, bit of a fiddle as its behind the dash, I seem to recall if you have aircon it can be even more fiddly. Buy genuine parts, I think its about £20 - £30? Michael was just telling me a story about a friend of his who slept with a land rover, lonely nights in the desert..

Might be your motor is rather tired - I had similar thing, fixed by new brushes in the motor, available from url=http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/category/wiper-systems-and-parts/
