Electircal (wiring) questions
Can any provide some advice re the wiring in the rear light area on a 2007 Puma (County DC version)?

Behind the plastic panel in the load area on the NS there are two non-connected thin wires. Behind the plastic panel on the OS there is a similar pair of non-connected thin wires. I assume that these are for the speakers that would be present on a SW?

On the OS, there is also a large connector block with 5 (I think) connectors in it, plus a further pair of quite thick wires in a two pole connector. Both connector blocks are not connected. What are these for? Is there a chance that the latter is a live feed that could be used for something useful?

In the OSR wheel-arch just above the rear crossmember there is also a large non-connected connector block. I seem to recall reading in this forum that this is where the fuel-burning hearter option is installed if fitted, is this what this connector is for?

Finally, does anyone have a copy of the electrical manual for a 2007 Puma? With help from the wonderful contributors to this forum I have a WSM, but an electrical manual woudl be handy.

Thanks.

hi

i belive the bigger connector block is for the two electrics and the twin for Aux power socket, well thats what i have connected to mine. The thinner wires are for speakers.

there is a link in a post on here somewhere about downloading the wiring diagrams

Thanks. I am puzzled then why I have a (I believe dealer-fitted) towing socket but nothing connected to the bigger connector! The Aux power socket will be useful; must fit one.

It occurs to me that the large unused connector that is inside the vehicle (behind the plastic panel by the rear lights on the o/s) could be the connector for the rear window wiper, which of course is not fitted to my DC.

Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

Blacwolf,

Dgardel one of our other members posted a link to his downloads some time ago, there is a complete set of wiring diagrams therein. Follow the link:

Alternatively if you're in my neck o' the woods you can swing by and have a look at my diagrams!

Thanks guys, I did get a set of diagrams plus the WSM through the generosity of forum members, and I am now sorted.

My confusion stemmed from the fact that someone had (very badly) spliced a non-fenuine trailer socket harness into the tail end harness, so that the proper trailer connector was not used. Again , through the co-operation of forum members I now have the correct socket wired correctly.

I've been trying to get hold of the wiring diagrams on another thread today (and the above link was recommended but I've not had much success with the downloads) - could somebody send me a link to an unzipped .pdf??

Much appreciated
