Sounds like the turbo waste gate is seized up so the ECU is detecting overboost and going into safe mode.
Try WD40 and manually move it back and forth a few times. |

Ok I'll try that, would that not mean that it'd momentarily show more boost on nanocom?

It could be a whole array of things after a jet wash.. Id try and let it dry out a bit and try again if the waste gate isn't the issue..
Not the best diagnosis technique I know, but if drying it out is the key then give it a try, then if that is the case, you know you have water ingress into somewhere it shouldn't be and can look at better water proofing.. My 1986 90 is currently on a full rebuild, with new chassis, Paint etc.. Very much a hybrid, TD5 Chassis, tub & bulkhead with a 200TDI and LT77 GB Painted in Stornoway Grey ![]() Last edited by Browny90 on 6th Aug 2015 2:14pm. Edited 1 time in total |

I did a similar thing to mine a few weeks ago, had an issue with electrics, if I were you I'd go around it with some WD40 on all plugs, fiddle with the wastegate as MRD says, and if you have one - blow out any water with an airline, check inside the airbox to make sure its not wet too.

Unplug the MAF then take it for a drive. If it's runs normally that's your problem solved!
I had the same on mine and the difference is considerable. Good luck |
