Thanks for posting that - I would like to do the rear wiper mod, but sounds like it's the instructions for connecting to the pre-2002 rear wiper knob, but presumably it will work on the later push/push button?
Anyone know the connections, or if there is a relay that can be swapped (like the front wiper mod)?
Hi guys, just a quick "up" for this thread: anyone has managed to make intermittent the rear wiper of a Td5 or a Puma using the spare relay after the replacement with the VW one? The instuctions in the pdf file are clearly for the pre-2002. From the wiring diagram of the Td5, there should be a relay so most likely just replacing it with the spare one should do the trick (proven that the connections feed the correct contacts on therelay)... problem is that i have no idea of where to go an look for the relay Thanks for your time |

I know this is a Puma specific catagory, but I have just obtained one of these wiper relays for use in a TD5 Defender, and it does not appear to work correctly. Everything works as described EXCEPT that if one pushes in the stalk to wash the windscreen the wipers remain on, instead of turning off after 3 wipes. The only way to turn the wipers off is to turn off the ignition. After this, the only thing that will work is constant wipers at low or high speed. After leaving everything off for a few minutes, the intermittent will work again, but with the same problem as described. I think I probably have a faulty relay (just my luck!), but I would like to hear from any TD5 owners who have used these relays successfully, just to ascertain this before I return it. Any information would be appreciated. Cheers, Lionel |

Just been quoted £55 each from my local Bosch retailer, and told none in UK stock.
I don't like ebay, so any suggestions where else to get them? Barney D4 - 2016 Graphite, Montalcino Red Written Off - 2010 90 Hard Top, Stornoway Grey |

Mine arrived this morning (the VW 99 relay) and it was fitted within 5 minutes!
In terms of bank-per-buck, this has to be one of the best mods you can do to a Landy. Mine is fitted to a TD5, in case additional confirmation of suitability is required. Have just modified the rear wiper to get variable intermit.
Easy mod - move 2 wires, add a 12v and ground connection and fit one link. Biggest hassle is getting the connectors out of the existing relay base. I'll post the wiring diagram when I have corrected it. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Works like the front - press the switch, let it wipe, switch it off, wait until you want it to wipe again, switch it on, and leave it - the wipers operate on intermit at the time you left between switching off and back on again.
