Did he say how much he'd used?
15 to 20 litres would be right for a proper 'non-drip' job. If he's used that much or less, it means it's not gone into the right places. |

Mega,
Hopefully you didn't pay him! If you didn't take it somewhere reputable like Rustmaster where they'll strip it off and do a proper job! If you did pay him print off the details from the Rustmaster site and dependant on how much you paid tell him that you expect the same/ similar standard of workmanship! Once dry the waxoyl (if that is indeed the brand he used) will harden and hopefully if applied on a clean truck will not drop off! Good luck! By the way welcome to the site! Mega,
You're welcome! It sounds like they may well have a good reputation that they may well wish to retain! Go back and speak to the manager and tell him how disappointed you are and what he intends to do about it! Take a copy of this thread with you and if he gets arsey tell him you're an active member of a popular Land Rover forum and are possibly prepared to name and shame! If they're any good they'll sort it! Good luck! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Going rate for a 'reputable' company varies approximately between £350 - £450 I think you get what you pay for, I always make sure I do?

Would have been best done when new.
Bob Pilbeam in Hailsham (East Sussex) did mine. |

Read through this thread especially page 1 there are links to photographs of the process being carried out. There are several recommended places but you will have to do a little travelling from where you are! I travelled from Bournemouth to these people due primarily to the excellent recommendations from previous customers. Made a day of it! Fantastic end result backed up by a five year warranty and free re-inspection and touch up if needed. Discount for forum members too! Not the cheapest but the best in my opinion for what it's worth! Hi MK, They did I believe remove mine and they use a finer 'misting wax' and a lance that 'atomises the wax and fills the void with a mist that stick and covers everything! They also used the same principle on the doors that prevent the necessity of door card removal. Whole process takes between four to five hours. Cleaned the overspray off for me as well!
That goes without saying, but anytime is better than none at all. My truck was 14 months old when I had mine done. It 'goes against the grain' spending so much when it does nothing to change/enhance the look of your Land Rover, especially when you have a 'bling wishlist' the length of the M5/M6! Have any of the scottish members had their landy waxoyled locally? Basically looking for my landy to get done and looking for a recommendation. Though rustmaster in knutsford is not that far to go, especially with the positive feedback on here. Any feedback appreciated.

I agree with that, generally speaking, though that's not to say that you can get a great job for less money from an equally reputable firm. if you do your research carefully you then just make a judgement. I used the guys near me because I trust them far far more than any dealer or other third party to work on my vehicle. they apply waxoyl to landrovers on a weekly basis, and have no issues. The job done on mine is excellent for example. |
