Compressor position (re air lockers)
Those of you with an airlocker(s), where did you fit the compressor?

On our red 110 (300 TDi) the ARB air locker compressor is under drivers seat. Keeps it clean and dry

OK Pumas have more electrics in driver seat box but still should have room for compressor.

actually there will be room in there. At the moment I keep my manual / book in there so there is definitely room for a small compressor. an excellent idea. I'm still interested in where others keep theirs but that seems to be a really good position, cheers.

Under the left wing (in my case LHD). Been for over a year there and no probs so far. Been on very dusty and wet conditions. If you are interested I can share a pic. Puma 110" SW

That'd be great MK. Under the wing? Presumably in some kind of protective box?

I've got mine under the RH wing (right hand drive), breather pipe runs inside the snorkel also on the RHS. It's a heavy duty ARB type so having access to the additional pressure port for tyre inflation is useful - although this could be mounted remotely with a length of pipe from a unit mounted anywhere.

When discussing the mounting location with guys at Devon4x4 they had some concerns about "oil misting" if the unit is put inside the truck - not sure if this was specifically to do with just a film of oil building up or whether there was a wider health and safety issue - either way the ultimate location made good use of a bit of the truck that would not be used for much else.....only other thought I had would have been whether the under wing space would be better used for a Eberspacher heater or similar - cross that bridge when I get a bit closer to going to the artic - which is a few years off yet

Locker switches are mounted in a column on the dashboard vertical close to drivers left hand

So far I've had no problems but not done a really deep wade with it in place. The unit is not boxed in in any way

I think oil misting can happen if the axle breathers get jammed up causing oil to go back up the pipe and into the compressor. Otherwise, shoudnt happen.

On my offisde rear wing I have an extended fuel tank but I guess I could use the left rear. I'd want it in a box though as I get into some deep water at times, not to mention mud.

I plan to put the switches on the front slope of the (new) cubby box.

I saw a 90 today (not a puma) with an eberspacher mounted directly behind the cubby box. looked neat, but very bulky.

The tin is at the stealer these days so I can not provide pics. But, anyway I would not fit the switches on the cubby box. I did it and not a good idea. Puma 110" SW

You can push them accidentally and they reflect on the windshield. Moved them beside the steering column.

In a day or two I can post some pics. Puma 110" SW

mines in a rear locker in the back of the truck cab. best place is out of the elements but ideally not in side the passenger compartment.

If an O ring goes on the locker you can also get ep90 coming up the airline. Cheers
