Squeeky Trackrod Ends
Hi Guys,

I have had one of those squeaks I just could not track down for the last few weeks.

After a lot of head scratching and wiggling of things I have tracked it down to my track rod ends.

They will need replacing as I suspect them to be quite warn and very dry.

On searching for a replacement I have found these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260930541464?_tr...EBIDX%3AIT

Has anyone used them before?

Looks like a great idea and makes me wander why they weren't grease-able from the factory?

What do we think?

Otherwise will be a genuine replacement item Thumbs Up Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

Anyone had experience with these?

One thing which I have noticed and is bothering me is the lack of a castle nut and pin Sad Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

Castle nuts/pins are really an old design & concept by today's standards
Safely replaced by Nylock nuts nowadays Wink

I have these fitted on my Puma courtesy of Gwyn Lewis Sumo bars:

They are larger than the OEM track rod ends and slightly touch the new LR front callipers I fitted, (the bottom bolt that holds the two half's of the calliper together.) No sign off rub wear but I will be keeping an eye on them over the next few months.

Nyloc nuts are fine as the nyloc is the secondary fastening. Thumbs Up
