Do you see how close they are!
How flush did you find you could get them? Why they put that stupid lip on there I shall never know. I'd have thought about it too but they need to be on a four Chanel Amp which I assume your doing? Couldn't justify spending hundreds more on it, for now at least. ![]() What did you use for cutting? IIRC it's the passenger side that is closest and the worrying part is different manufacturers have different dimensions. The good thing is most show the dimensions in manuals. |

I've got impatient and gone ahead and ordered one - I'll report back with a new thread when, assuming I'm capable, I've fitted it and tested it out! |

I have a Pioneer 6500 with 5.25 Focal components. The niggles are, rotary volume knob also accesses the menu which is way to sensitive to touch, bouncing along trying to turn the volume up without accessing the menu ![]() Most of it is trivial and I will buy another Pioneer next as the sound quality is as good if not better than Alpine which is what I really wanted. Mine has been 100% reliable and I'm not aware of any issues with the brand with one exception, choose your dab aerial carefully some of the amped aerials are frying the HU. I must admit doing anything with any HU in a Defender is easier said than done.
I'm lucky in the fact that I have one button to open and the rest is touch on a 7" screen with normal sized touch symbols similar to a tablet PC. One of the reasons why I like 1 DIN flip out or 2 din multimedia screens. |

They are very tight ![]() I will use the front raised lip to align the new grill, and then they should fit flush .Probably use my Fein cutter to mutilate the holes ![]() ![]() |

Oscillating multi tool. No one should be without one!
http://www.multimaster.info/en_uk/m/multimaster/products/ When it comes to cutting dash holes thought I still think by hand is best. Slow and steady 👍 |

Ah I got one myself, only Bosch.
![]() You can use a hacksaw blade or similar by hand. You'd need a small cutter blade for the tool, I don't have one that small if the fight type. |

about 5mm The picture with the glare makes it appear worse !! it was a challenge but already a big improvement over stock ! The crossovers were a real PITA as they need almost as much room !! Fitting 4"s would have been alot easier, but once ampped up I'm sure the benefits will be heard

Are you running just off HU power for now then?
Are you going to run new wires once amped? as it's probably too much for OE wiring. You not doing this for Amps then? ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() |

^^^^^ God thats awful !!! No another stealth install
Just off HU for now while I decide what I'm going to do sub wise. I did feel under a bit of pressure to make the 5"'s fit, after all the banter ![]() |
