Turn the key to position II, then this sounds start...
Continue for about 30Sec then will stop...Is this normal? I'm checking if my fuel pump start to fail! https://youtu.be/VTAcocgYmMI |

Probably the pump (in tank) priming the system, although I think there it a non-return valve to stop fuel draining back to the tank which should avoid this. This was the case on a TD5, not sure about later Pumas. Jeff

Is there not a pressure switch that cuts in to prevent it from continually running and overpressurising once primed unless the engine is started? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

My lost of power "uphill" might be cause by a bad fuel pump, will cut a hole in the back penal, take it out for a look!
replace or clean as it need! I would get a new pump for spare, get a VDO one! |

Have this sound after fitting new fuelfilter, disapeared after 5-6 startups. Are you sure you don't have any air in the system? Just some thought's. -99 Td5 90 CSW -09 Jaguar xk4,2 Portfolio |

If anyone is interested or just plain curious I thought I'd post this link back up to show that getting to the pump from above on a 110 Td5 isn't too bad.
http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic28189.html It certainly makes things easier for the future. |

I'm going to do this soon, I have a bit worry cutting those fuel hoses, since I'm not going to cut with the tank lower! |

The fuel pipes are a good 50cm below the tin of the floor, you would have to be very rough to cut the pipes and wires when cutting a 2mm piece of aluminium sheet.
