Hi having simular problems with an 11 plate 2.4. Recently went in to have gearbox replaced and when i picked it up it failed to start instantly like it always had done, tried again a couple of times and eventuly fired straight up, thought nothing of it and got home only to have it do the same a few more times, it just cranks over but wont fire, occasionaly fires then continues to turn over. Some times applying throttle on first turn will get it to go straight away but i think this is more coincedence. Sometimes it fires as it always did, runs fine etc when started. Have wiggled all relays under seat and in dash. No warnings lights are on. Any ideas im gonna ring up the garage on monday and see what they think.. Thanks pete

As you`ve just had the gearbox worked on.
I would check all starter feeds, grounds. battery connections. etc. And The state of the crankshaft position sensor. It sits about. 1 o`clock in relation to the bell housing as you look at it. I`ve had a few wacked or moved slightly, when customers have had clutches done or cheap, incorrect dual mass flywheels fitted. Granted they have usually been transits or ldv convoys. But it`s worth a look. Excuse the spelling I`am better with spanners and wires. |
