Water leak into cabin - 90 XS
This not something I'm particularly worried about having had SIII Defenders in the past that leaked. Today the rain was quite bad here in S Wales and when I got home I spotted some water on the bare metal floor behind the front passenger seat. On looking carefully there were water drops on top of the folded rear seats, both sides and on the folded seat backs that faced the side sliding windows, also on the grey plastic "arm rest" on the cabin side beside the side windows.
The roof side window seal was dry as was the gutter below it. I can only surmise that the water was coming in through the base of the sliding window and being blown onto the seats as it was VERY wet and windy this am.
Has anybody seen this and know of any cure?
As this is a new vehicle under warranty should I return to the dealer or is this just something to live with. I know with previous Defenders leaks were fairly common but I've never had one like this and probably wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't reached behind the front seat to get my Kindle ebook.
Any advice much appreciated. Big Cry Question

Not good,

I had water leaks in the back of my old Td5 110 DC, the seal around the rear sliding window had gone (maybe on holiday).
Just has it replaced and then it never leaked again for the 18 months i had it before selling it.

Couldn't tell you the cost it was done under warranty.

I had a 57 PUMA 90 XS. I got shot after 10 months due to the leaks. Under the rear carpet was almost always wet. It went back to the stealers 3 times to get fixed but falure everytime. I then had clear water coming out the dash when I went round a left hand bend. I got fed up when the clear water became a bit brown and rusty.
So got shot and found me a nice D3.

So if you purchased a Cairns Blue 90 XS, black gen wingtop protectors and a Gen RAI and witness marks where they insisted I removed the A bar about 2 1/2 yrs ago from a dealer in Kent I really feel for you 110 D250 SE HT

A new one shouldn't be leaking like that (even with today's weather). Take it to the dealers and get them to put it right for you. (Be persistant, it could well take them a number of attempts to find it). Peter

It will take several attempts! Three in my case, two from the bulkhead area (dash removed twice) and one from the front door seals. Just found another under the offside small window next to the rear door. Poor seal between the tub and upper body leaving wet carpet and floor panel under the rear speaker. Might be worth other forum members checking this area as it is not normally noticable. Easy self fix, breaking out the silicone sealer at the weekend.

Tried with a pressure washer and only got a few drops, a lot less than yesterday which wasn't a lot, by directing washer INTO the window ie: from the rear pointing forward. I have a thought though. This happened while I was driving from Tesco to home. Very wet/windy and I was driving with drivers window partly open ( NB: the water was on the passengers side rear seat ) BUT I have those Climair window deflectors fitted and they produce a slight -tve pressure in the cab with window open( cigarette smoke gets sucked out when window is partly open ) and all the rain/wind was onto the passenger side. Just a theory. I think I'll keep my camera in the car and take some photos if it happens again. This was the first time this has happened since I got my beloved Defender. Confused

Sorry Grockle, I don't understand why that should work. The Front Passenger seat was dry. The water was on the rear passenger seat which was in it's folded position and the water was on the top surface and the side facing the sliding side window only.

Well no response to full power from the washer. Have to wait for the rain again. Have camera handy in car for photos. Watch this space. Confused
