Hose 'collapse' is an issue that has been experienced if you do a search on the internet and for a small outlay could be negated as the cause or even cure it perhaps? The issue of oil ingress in the injector harness is well documented on here as a cause of power loss too!

Hmm, oil in the injector harness...........I replaced the harness a couple of years back as it was just starting to leak into the multiplug on the underside of the head, but hadn't got to the ECU. It's not something I've checked for a while - will investigate that later today.
Remind me - do you need to disconnect the battery to remove/check the red plug ? Td5 110 HD Hardtop.......not quite standard |

Is there anyway to know if the turbo is dead?
Jimbo, I disconnect the negative cable every time I remove the red plug! |

Whereas I never disconnect the battery, ignition is off though i.e. the key is out.

Take your cat off and give it a run down the road. See if it goes any better.

Ok, so have spent some time investigating this problem a bit further........
1. No oil in the red ECU plug 2. No oil in the injector loom connector front left of the head 3. Turbo wastegate actuator linkage disconnected and confirmed that the wastegate moves freely in the turbo 4. All turbo/intercooler hoses checked for 'secureness' 5. EGR valve replacement tube removed and checked - I thought there was a small trace of oil leaking where the lump of billet joins the inlet manifold.......checked both surface for 'flat' and made a new gasket. 6. Got SWMBO to floor the loud pedal whilst I watched the I/C hoses - nothing appeared to collapse, but then maybe it needs to be under a proper load ? 7. Went for a test drive - still the same..........Nanocom readings were (from memory): MAF - a max of around 450 (Kpa ?) Inlet manifold pressure - a max of just over 200 (Kpa?) seen in 3rd gear foot flat on the floor There's no rough idle or rough/lumpy running - it just doesnt pick up speed like it used to..............which to me doesnt seem like a fuelling problem - but could it be ? Could still be collapsing hoses perhaps? Under load as you mentioned which cannot be checked stationary unless you've a rolling road. are they in good condition with no 'soft spots' or delamination? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I think he heard you the first time!
Catalytic convertor is not the main issue here though is it? Undoubtedly it will pick up quicker with the rapid spool up of the turbo but it could potentially mask the root cause of the problem.
