Thats bad news Alby, I feel your pain.

I've now been told next Tuesday but I'm not holding my breath.

More interesting is the date of manufacture of your car - mine was first reg on 28 April 2014, built to my order, so probably was on the line in early April 2014. Sounding like a duff batch of components to me Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

Hope it all resolves for you soon.

Hi Alby

Hope you've got the truck back on the road.

Got mine back today, excellent service from the guys at Farnells in Bradford - but they hadn't had any others in reporting the fault.

Let's all hope our shared problem isn't widespread after all...

Evening stickleback

Glad you've got your defender sorted and back in the road again Thumbs Up

I'm still waiting to hear anything about mine, hopefully won't be too much longer.

I've no complaints about the dealer my end either to be honest. They got Land Rover to sort me a hire car on Friday (another disco4) so they could have their courtesy car back.

Yep hopefully the new steering box should last a bit longer, when the dealer finally receives it that is.

Just got my little black defender back again, all sorted now.

New steering box fitted.

Got a bottle of water and a tin of mints too. And it's been washed and polished inside and out and they've even made the tyres look all shiny.

Had its first service too while it was there for £295.

Top marks to Duckworths Market Rasen.

Well...

Guess what... my steering box is leaking!!! Rolling Eyes Less than 1,200 miles old Shocked

Looked it up on here, the photo's are exactly as mine is! Took it to my local Oz dealer this-morning, together with the info from the forum (which basically says a new pump needs to be fitted, not repaired!). The dealer was not interested in the info... so it's booked in for Monday to have them tell me the same! Shocked

Will report back... hope this is not a bad omen for a 'Friday' car... Big Cry
