IME, new engine oil in a diesel goes black very quickly --

Quite normal, there's always a little bit of the old dirty oil left trapped in the engine after draining it, it mixes with the new stuff and straight away you've got dirty new oil.
But in any case, as Naks says, new oil is very quickly "blackened" in a diesel. |
