Hi Nidge...
The current 'official' definitive position is that the Heritage will be purchased as it comes out of the factory for the UK market, i.e. without AirCon or Radio, and there will be no factory fit options available... We are working on it at a fairly senior level in JLR... And there is still time... Rog... The GREEN One... MY2016 Urban Truck Build Thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40548....al[/color] |

I would just like the Aircon option to keep a good resale value on the car.
At the mo you can get a pre reg 90 XS HT with the premium seat upgrade for the same price |

but that ain`t a Heritage. Although I`d like Aircon, I can live without it and if it ain`t got it it ain`t got it. Won`t effect resale one bit. Went to a different dealer yesterday, and he was explaining how he could have sold the heritage loads of times over. So general public ain`t that bothered about it. Mentioned he knew of some adventures still available |

That rather misses the point we have been trying to make Forest... And, in any event, I think I would be safe in saying that neither the different dealer you went to, or those mystery 'loads of times over' potential buyers will actually have had a clue what is on offer, so it is probably a bit misleading to suggest the public ain't that bothered... To be absolutely honest, I was 'not that bothered' when I handed over my deposit, but then everyone was pretty much completely in the dark, over just what the Heritage actually offered, or not, which detail is only just now starting to creep out of the woodwork... Rog,
I can see the point Forest is making, my dealer told me that he could have sold my 90HT 30 times over and when I was leaving the dealership another salesman came over to me and asked if he could buy it from me which I guess he was going to resell on at a profit. I think that there is genuine demand for the Heritage. I totally take your point about not really knowing what we were getting when we ordered (although the spec I was given then does seem like the spec we are going to end up with), but I think that most buyers are happy with what we are getting. It would be good to spec A/C and other options if we could but I would still much prefer a heritage as it is to an XS. What really irritates me is that other markets can specify options but we in the UK have been told 'like it or lump it', not really a way to treat customers who not only want to buy a Defender but potentially other models in the JLR range. |

The Aircon is not the issue.
The issue is the fact that on the same production line the same Heritage edition is being made with Aircon. Should be (all in) or (all out) They told me there will be no air con as the car represent the original series 1. but we will be putting it into all the others obviously annoyed me a little. |

100% agree!
It's almost more effort NOT to add A/C to all 400 UK models! Just make it standard across all markets and charge us another grand. I would be quite happy with that! YOLO... You Only Live Once... |
