Don't get me wrong Paul, I know precisely where @forest172 is coming from and take the point entirely... But, as @Steve E has suggested, that is not the point! We in the UK are being treated as a poor relation in the case of the Heritage and that should be unacceptable to anyone, Heritage buyer or not... Whether one wants to pay extra for it, or make it 'one's own' by adding further factory options, should be as available to us here in the UK if it is available in other markets worldwide... The argument about it being more faithful to the original Heritage is completely laughable, totally spurious, and null and void - did the original have heated seats, or heated windscreen, or fancy cloth covered seats with HUE labels on, or coloured elastic bands on the sticks, not to mention an AirCon sticky out grille? And, in any event, if that is the case, why is the rest of the World not hearing that argument for getting the same as us in the UK?... I think not, so that argument fails when used against AirCon, which simply adds a few knobs and buttons but improves inmate comfort no end in all sorts of weathers... Rog... The GREEN One... This is JLR. This is the UK. This is what we are being given.
I fear that is simply the 'end of' Not amount of bleating is going to change anyones mind at JLR! They simply see that all 400 Heritages were sold in hours and that obviously says to them that 400 buyers were quite happy to part with their £31 K of hard earnt for a car, built in 2015, without A/C!!! I would think that would make the Heritage totally unique in being the ONLY £31K car IN THE WORLD, without A/C being fitted!!! We all must be bloody MAD! YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Let's hope that someone at JLR is reading all of this as it is clear that we would all like to be treated as overseas buyers are in being given the opportunity to spec options.
Agree totally with Rogers comments about keeping to the spirit of the original Land Rover, were the first Series one's exported to Oz fitted with A/C?!!..... What a load of rubbish. I'll have A/C at 1k as well so that's at least 5k so far that JLR is missing out on, seems crazy as most manufacturers are only to keen to sell you options as that's where they make huge amounts of extra dosh. |

A/c on the heritage isn't happening. I've had a reply and they've point blank said no options

Unfortunately that is correct as communicated to me Friday...
And no word of explanation or apology for their representative's misinformation on here either... I have, today, informed them if that is their last word I shall be requesting they return my deposit... Not that they will give a monkey's fart about that, but heyho, it will make me feel better... I'm in two minds about that as if you hammer the lad for trying to be helpful but making an honest mistake, then he's less likely to try being helpful in a similar situation in the future. Who knows he might of been very diligent in making sure he went to the right person for an answer and they have given him duff info. In large companies it's easy to get two very different and apparently definitive answers to the same question at the same time. Having said all of that - it was extremely poor form to delete the statement, rather than just add in a correction immediately below it. On other forums, I've seen admins re-insert the original post for the purpose of fact. Last edited by Supacat on 27th Apr 2015 6:56pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Yes an apology. However I'm going to take the car. I feel that land rover never mentioned air con as an option, was just the guy on here.
Would have been nice but not a big deal for me |

I think that's called 'cutting off your nose to spite your face!' You'll regret it in my opinion. Last chance to order the last Defenders ever built, all because of air conditioning not being an option??? They'll be plenty of takers on your slot, without a doubt. |

Let's see how many are traded in in the first 12 months by people with that mindset but absolutely no clue to what they are buying.
Expect lines like "my missus just didn't like it"; "just too slow"; "my ears rang after every journey"; "didn't realise steering was so vague"...the list goes on. Saying these are the last Defenders ever seems to miss the point to me, you put a new chassis underneath, new body on top or new engine in the front - and off you go again with another old but re-lifed Defender. |

Just a thought - aircon is available for the 2.2 TDCi models as an after-market add-on.
The heritage model already has an extended grill, so externally it would look identical. The only difference would be that the middle button on the lower dash would have something to do, and oh, and nice, cool, dry air when required. Downside is the cost of course... AirCon is also available as a factory option for the 2.2 TDCi as quoted on their price list: 022AM Air Conditioning £895.83 And a damn sight cheaper too... But JLR's unfathomable intransigence means we could not avail ourselves of this if we choose to buy a Heritage... Rog... The GREEN One...
